Billerica has been long known as the “Yankee Doodle Town” because of it’s patriotic roots that date back to the Revolutionary War when a citizen of the town was tarred and feathered by British Soldiers. That event turned the term Yankee Doodle from a negative slur to a patriotic symbol. With heritage running so deep it would be hard to imagine anything else but the classic American style of the Yorktown lining the streets.
